Food & Beverages/ electricity · heat · proof
Chill it, heat it —
on the same kWh.
One provider for green electricity, green heat and the data that proves both — from source water to CIP to the last case on the truck.
About ₹5.92 a unit across the year with solar and wind, against ₹7.41 from the grid.
Heat from a heat pump on that electricity, against ₹6.22 from a PNG boiler.

Source water to shelf/ where we intervene
Every litre
has a lever.
Water is treated, syrup is made, bottles are washed, filled, pasteurised and chilled, and cases leave for the market. jouleWise acts at eleven points across the plant.
Green sourcing
Intrastate and ISTS solar and wind contracted through open access for a long-shift load with summer peaks.
ElectricityConnectivity and metering
Open access approvals, connection agreement and ABT metering at the plant incomer.
ElectricityRooftop solar
Bottling hall and warehouse roofs carry behind-the-meter solar, sized from measured load.
ElectricityBattery storage
LFP storage shaves the blow-moulding and chiller peak and carries solar into the evening shift.
ElectricityHeat pumps on CIP and syrup
CIP, syrup dissolving and process hot water from heat pumps instead of boiler steam.
HeatPasteuriser and bottle washer
Tunnel pasteuriser zones and washer baths on the heat pump hot-water circuit.
HeatCIP and hot-water store
Store charged in solar blocks, ready for every CIP cycle and changeover.
HeatChiller heat recovery
Carbonation and process-chiller heat becomes the heat pump source — chilling and hot water from one kWh.

Low-cost
green electricity.
Blow moulders, compressors, chillers and filling lines run long shifts with a daytime peak — and demand climbs steeply in summer. We build the green portfolio to that profile and move heat pump load into solar hours.
Hover the profile to read any 15-minute block
Heat pumps run all day here: CIP and washer water at every changeover, the pasteuriser through both shifts, the hot-water store charged in solar hours. Chillers carry on through the night, which is why the base never falls far.
Plan
Meter-data due diligence: bills, load survey, rooftop and captive parameters. Solar, wind, hybrid, BESS and exchange electricity optimised together, capex or opex, with each state's ToD, banking and open access charges in the landed-cost model.
Implement
RfP over a 25-year horizon, developer evaluation, reverse auction, PPA and shareholder agreements (26% SPV equity for captive status), open access approvals and connection agreement.
Meter and log
ABT meters at injection and drawal points — main and check meters on CTs and PTs of the required accuracy class — plus data loggers on every incomer, heat pump, steam, fuel and water line. Installed, tested, sealed and linked to the SLDC and to ergOS.
Orchestrate
ergOS forecasts 96 blocks, schedules with the SLDC, trades DAM, GDAM, RTM and GTAM, manages banking and battery health — and now dispatches heat pumps and thermal storage against price.
Heat/ what moves, what stays
The boiler,
reinvented.
Almost every heat duty in a beverage plant sits below 100 °C: CIP, washing, syrup and pasteurisation. Heat pumps serve them on electricity — and the chillers cooling the product supply the heat.
Heat sources we reuse
Carbonation, process and cold-room chiller condensers, compressor heat and warm rinse water — heat the plant already rejects every hour it runs.
Heating and cooling at once
Beverage plants chill product while heating CIP and wash water. A heat pump on the chiller loop serves both from the same kWh.
Sized from metered heat
Portable heat meters log flow and temperature on candidate processes for two to four weeks before anything is sized.
Economics/ illustrative
Low-cost electricity
drives low-cost heat.
What one kWh of useful process heat costs, and what it emits, depending on where the heat comes from. The heat pump cuts cost on any electricity; green electricity is what cuts the carbon.
Illustrative only, not an offer. Assumptions: PNG 10.4 kWh/SCM, 1.95 kg CO₂/SCM; HSD 10.0 kWh/L, 2.68 kg CO₂/L; grid 0.716 kg CO₂/kWh (CEA baseline order of magnitude); green electricity treated as zero-emission on a market basis with green attributes retired. Heat pump COP 3.6 reflects hot water near 80 °C for CIP and washing, drawn from the carbonation and process chiller loop; COP falls as delivery temperature rises. Tariffs, fuel prices and COP vary by site and are replaced with metered values in the baseline.

ergOS runs electricity and heat; esgOS publishes BRSR Core-format, CBAM, CDP and customer disclosures with an audit trail.
We can fund it. You choose how. Each lever — electricity or heat — can be bought four ways, and the two levers can be bought differently.

In short/ Food & Beverages
The Food & Beverages playbook is jouleWise's typical engineering approach for beverage and bottling plants: chill it, heat it — on the same kwh.
One provider for green electricity, green heat and the data that proves both — from source water to CIP to the last case on the truck. For a bottler or beverage maker, carbon, water and plastic are now scored per litre by brand owners, retailers and regulators. Six pressures point at the same metered data. Almost every heat duty in a beverage plant sits below 100 °C: CIP, washing, syrup and pasteurisation. Heat pumps serve them on electricity — and the chillers cooling the product supply the heat.
What to take away
- Heat duties and temperatures: Bottle washing 60–85 °C (heat pump); CIP of syrup and filler lines 70–85 °C (heat pump); Syrup dissolving 60–85 °C (heat pump); Tunnel pasteurisation 60–75 °C (heat pump); Hot fill and flash pasteurisation 72–95 °C (heat pump); Crate and case washing 50–70 °C (heat pump); UHT processing 135–145 °C (stays on fuel).
- PNG-fired boiler: ₹6.22 per kWh of useful heat, 0.221 kg CO₂/kWh-th
- Diesel (HSD) boiler: ₹10.59 per kWh of useful heat, 0.315 kg CO₂/kWh-th
- Heat pump on DISCOM electricity: ₹2.36 per kWh of useful heat, 0.199 kg CO₂/kWh-th
- Heat pump on green open access: ₹1.53 per kWh of useful heat, 0.000 kg CO₂/kWh-th
